Sharz Café: Lovely ambience & flavorful food
Accompanied by two friends, I was pleasantly surprised by the charming ambience and excellent food at the Sharz Wine Cafe, as it is rare that we consume three entire meals with no complaints about flavor or portion size. The nicely, Thai-tomato sauced calamari appetizer was fresh and tasty while my frisse salad, with bacon bits and pignolia nuts in a classic Dijon dressing, was superb. The crisp but tender sea scallops floating in a butter sauce, with a side of fresh spinach, was a delicious entrée, as was the well-seasoned marinated skirt steak. A pleasant change from the ubiquitous crème brule and tiramisu desserts was the butterscotch bread pudding whose richness was nicely cut by the vanilla ice cream. I appreciated the affable owner’s allowing several wine tastings before I found the one I desired. As retired antique and flea market vendors who supplied decorative accessories to many restaurants, we were quite amused by the assortment of collectibles that filled every nook and cranny, especially the countless monkey figures adorning the bar shelves, walls, and any other space they could be squeezed into.

festive ambiance & flavorful food
As a winner of a SpecialsByZip contest, my two guests and I had low expectations, only to be pleasantly surprised by the charming ambiance and excellent food at Sharz. It is rare that we consume three entire meals with no complaints about flavor or portion size! The nicely Thai-tomato sauced calamari appetizer was fresh and tasty while my frisee salad with bacon bits and pignoli nuts, tossed in a classic French dijon dressing, was superb. The crisp but tender sea scallops floating in a luscious butter sauce, surrounded by a bed of fresh spinach, was a delicious entree, as was the well-seasoned marinated skirt steak. A pleasant change from the ubiquitous creme brulee and tiramisu desserts was the butterscotch bread pudding, whose richness was nicely cut by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I especially appreciated the affable owner's allowing several wine tastings before I found the one I desired. And, as ex-antique and flea market vendors who supplied decorative accessories to many restaurants, we were quite amused by the assortment of collectibles that filled every nook and cranny, especially the countless monkey figures adorning the bar, the shelves, the walls and any other spot they could squeeze into. Only question was we wondered why the prix fixe 29.99 dinner didn't have a dessert course, which is usually standard. Otherwise a wonderful evening had by all!

Solid Pizza
Delizia has very good pizza, and lots of specials. It's totally buried in the midst of the 2nd ave construction, so you may want to do delivery, but the pizza is some of the best around.

Consistently good and a good deal
I eat from Healthalicious at least once a week, and the food is always good. The staff is friendly, and the portions are good-sized on most things.
